40th Annual Prairie du Chien Run/Walk set for July 24

“Mark your calendar! Prairie du Chien’s 40th Annual 5-Mile Run/3-Mile Walk will be held on Saturday, July 24,” announces Mike Ulrich, Director, Prairie du Chien Park and Recreation Department. “Runners, walkers, and their families are invited to gather at the Aquatic Park, 1401 East Wells Street, in Prairie du Chien before the event starts at 9:00 a.m. Medals will be awarded to the 1st place runner in each male and female category of the 5-Mile Run.”

Connie Achenbach, Chief Operations Officer at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital adds, “Exercise plays an important role in preventing illness. The hospital’s Healthy Lifestyles Program joins the Park and Recreation Department to sponsor this community event each year to promote activities that help lead a healthy life.”

The registration fee of $10 includes an event t-shirt, refreshments, and swimming after the event. Registration forms are available at the Aquatic Park, Prairie du Chien Park and Recreation Department and Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. To ensure a t-shirt in their size, participants must pre-register by noon on July 16. Registrations are also accepted at 8:00 a.m. prior to the Run/Walk. Interstate EMS is providing on-site rescue personnel.
